This week is a double parsha so there are many possibilities. Starting out with Parshat Matot, we learn how to kasher vessels used for cooking. Verse 31:23 explains that items that can withstand fire should go through fire to be kashered, while those that are not used in fire should be boiled. To illustrate the two forms of kashering there is a noodle kugel (which utilizes boiled noodles) and burnt cookies.
Jumping into Parshat Masei, this parsha documents the various sites where B’nai Yisrael encamped during their travels in the dessert. Nothing symbolizes camping better than s’mores! Of course you could just make regular s’mores to mark the parsha, but if you’re feeling adventurous, you can try out this Summertime S’mores Challah from Jamie Geller’s Joy of Kosher.
